Here I go again… on my knees digging, pulling, uprooting, exerting time and energy dealing with the weeds in my garden, all the while knowing in just a matter of time, they will be back! I don’t understand why ‘these weeds just won’t die!” They keep coming back and when they do, they come back stronger and thriving more and more.
Here is a thought…
“Do you realize that a believer is like a weed in the life-garden of the adversary, the devil?”
What do I mean? The word of God exposes the many tricks and plots the devil uses to steal, kill and or destroy us. His entire mission is built around getting rid of us; just like we do to the weeds in our garden.
Weeds are a very interesting type of plant, and they do have a purpose. They help to keep the soil in place, provide a place for wildlife to live and to feed, and can be aesthetically pleasing at times. They become beneficial organic matter and in some cases, they also have nutritional benefits.
There is purpose and meaning for our existence. We are here on earth as Glory carriers – an expression of God in the earth – and a necessary weed in the life-garden of the enemy.
You can be assured of the relentless pursuit by the enemy to find the right formula, tools and the right mixture of ingredients to get rid of the pesky weeds – the believer! Yet, in just a matter of time, we bounce right back. We are constantly interrupting his plots and plans as we keep on rising… just like the weeds!
The thing that I admire about weeds is there resilience and their determination to push through unfavorable growing conditions; they find their way under, over and through rocks, driveways and pavements to thrive and grow.
Likewise, it does not matter what situation the enemy throws our way. A believer has the Spirit of Christ living on the inside enabling our ability and giving us power and authority as an overcomer.
The lesson here is be like a weed in the life-garden of the devil. Be determined, be vigilant knowing that you are resilient, and you will thrive and grow even in unfavorable conditions. You must know that nothing shall, will or can uproot you once you have been anchored by your heavenly Father.
The word of the God declares:
8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.
2 Corinthians 4: 8-10 [ESV]
There is nothing that can separate or move you out of His protection; you are rooted and grounded in His love. The truth is, no matter what comes at us, we stand and remain victorious. So be the pesky weed that continues to flourish even from the life-garden of the defeated foe, the devil.
