Worship is my Sanity

Worship is my Sanity

With the constant laundry list of things to do, one thing I often forget or simply don’t get to, is my time alone with HIM. Then, I find myself in repentance one more time, for not being mindful to take the time to stop and converse with HIM. I realize it is not about having devotion, studying or praying just so I can check off my ‘to do list’, or feel the comfort to say, ‘I am being a good Christian’, but it’s about being intentional and consistent in HIS presence. For anything else that is of worth and value in my life, I do make time, room and space for them, so why is it that what is most important gets left behind?

CORPORATE WORSHIP

I enjoy corporate worship, but that 60-90 minutes is often not enough to dig through my racing mind, and its preoccupation with my to do list, including, what’s for dinner? As soon as service is over, I am off again rushing from one thing to the next. Keeping up at this pace means I am so busy living and forgetting that I can’t live without the connection with my heavenly Father. It leaves me feeling clogged up, weighted down and disconnected.

I NEED
WORSHIP…

I need my alone time with my Heavenly Father. A time with no added schedules or appointments, just He and I alone; whether it’s in the laundry room, kitchen, car or closet. I want to relinquish my will, my emotions, and come to a place of total abandonment in my heavenly Father. My worship invites the presence and Glory of God into my space. I can lift my hands or lay prostrate before him and in that moment the vicious cycle of busyness and all its accompaniment eludes my mind. Worship brings me to new place and positions me in deep intimacy with my heavenly Father.

WORSHIP IS
MY SANITY…

It brings me to the reality of who I am in Him; aligns me in His purpose and positions me for destiny. Worship plunges me into a deep saturated presence where I am captivated by His love and I become totally vulnerable and safe in Him. His love permeates and leaves me perfectly marinated, dissipating all tiredness, all busyness and all the cares of life. He digs deep so that the process of mending my brokenness, removing my fears and strengthening my weaknesses can take place.

The truth is, my sanity is dependent on my worship. It is through worship that I am fully rejuvenated in strength and my joy and peace is restored.

No matter where you are or how busy you think you are, always make room, time and space for your Heavenly Father. You should never forget that amidst your laundry list of things to do, worship can bring you back to a place of sanity. So why wait to be overwhelmed with the cares of life, immerse yourself in a lifestyle of worship, today!

Psalm 95:1-6
The Passion Translation (TPT)
It’s Time to Sing

Come on, everyone! Let’s sing for joy to the Lord!
Let’s shout our loudest praises to our God who saved us!
Everyone come meet his face with a thankful heart.
Don’t hold back your praises;
make him great by your shouts of joy!
For the Lord is the greatest of all,
King-God over all other gods!
In one hand he holds the mysteries of the earth
and in the other he holds the highest mountain peaks.
He’s the owner of every ocean,
the engineer and sculptor of earth itself!
Come and kneel before this Creator-God;
come and bow before the mighty God, our majestic maker!
